#PrayForThePhilippines | Please Extend a Helping Hand for the #FloodVictims in Manila

Most areas in Metro Manila, Philippines was heavily flooded not because of the rain caused by a typhoon but by a low pressure area off Northern Luzon. The shallow low pressure area enhanced the southwest monsoon and brought more rain than usual. Consequently, it increased the water level of dams and rivers that caused flood.

Here is a more comprehensive and better explanation of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA):

The Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm "Haikui" located 300 km Northeast of Taiwan will continue to bring occasional to frequent rains over Luzon becoming moderate to heavy rains in the Provinces of Ilocos, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and National Capital Region today until tomorrow with gradual improvement of weather condition by Thursday and onwards to the weekend. Expect landslides/flashfloods in mountainous areas and floods in low lying areas.
I'm grateful to God that my entire family and I got through this week safely. However, it truly grips my heart to look at these photos and see the flood victims on television news. I implore you my dear visitors that as we all pray for the safety and survival of my countrymen Filipinos, please extend a helping hand in any way you can for the flood victims.
